Summer community events
We'll be giving away 200 lunches at each event this summer in North Escambia for our Movies & Meals (formerly Family Flicks & Food) community events!
We'll have fresh pizza from Porky's Pizza, popcorn from Publix, and drinks to keep you cool throughout the the film! Please bring your blankets or chairs, coolers, and anything else you need to keep your fam comfortable during the event.
Meals given away will be first come, first served. We'll begin giving meals away at 6:00pm. The film will begin at 6:30pm, 7:00 at the latest.
This event is intended to serve children and their families during the summer months to help fight food insecurity in the more rural areas of Escambia County. If you know of a family in North Escambia who would benefit from this opportunity, please let them know!

Petey's Pelican Drops
What if a simple walk through your local park or a visit to a familiar landmark ended with an unexpected surprise?
That's the idea behind Petey's Pelican Drops, a community initiative from A Pensacola Perspective created to encourage people to explore Escambia County, spend time outdoors, learn about local places, and enjoy a little excitement along the way.
Throughout the year, Petey the Pelican will hide cash, gift cards, and other prizes in public spaces across our community. Each drop is accompanied by a riddle that leads participants to the location, hopefully creating a fun scavenger hunt for individuals and families of all ages.
Our July launch celebrates America's 250th Birthday with surprise drops throughout the month. Every prize is funded through the generosity of community members who believe in creating positive, engaging experiences right here in Escambia County.

Get to know us
A Pensacola Perspective (APP) is a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on strengthening community connection, encouraging volunteerism, and supporting positive engagement throughout Escambia County and the greater Panhandle region.
APP organizes volunteer opportunities across need-based spaces throughout the community, including public space cleanups, community support initiatives, donation drives, and outreach efforts designed to directly assist local residents. We help coordinate the collection and redistribution of supplies, clothing, food, hygiene items, and other essential resources that are provided back to the community free of charge.
Our organization also supports care package initiatives for the local homeless and transient population while working to promote dignity, compassion, and stronger community involvement across all backgrounds.
In addition, APP focuses on helping families and young people connect to meaningful spaces through local storytelling programming, volunteer opportunities, educational engagement, and healthy participation within the community. Through events, partnerships, and outreach, we aim to encourage civic pride, local awareness, and long-term investment in the people and places that make the Gulf Coast unique.
